Report a correction

We welcome corrections. If you believe a definition is inaccurate or missing an important nuance, please use our corrections email and tell us the term and the issue. The most useful corrections name the specific entry, describe the problem, and, where possible, point to the legal source or jurisdiction where the difference matters. Our editors review suggested corrections and update entries where needed.

What we cannot do

Because this is a static reference, we cannot review your specific situation, interpret your documents, or give legal advice about your case. For personal matters, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction, and bring your documents with you. We also cannot verify whether a particular lawyer is right for you, or comment on a pending dispute.

For feedback about the site itself — a broken link, a page that does not load, or a suggestion for a new term — the same email address works, and we read everything even if we cannot reply to every message individually.
